Elliot Surrey

Elliot grew up in La Crescenta, California where he attended Crescenta Valley High School and was a 4 year varsity starter. He led the way with all CIF First Team honors 3 years in a row.

Elliot continued his athletic and academic career at the University of California, Irvine where he played for the late college coaching legend Mike Gillespie. Elliot was a 3 year starting pitcher for the Anteaters where he helped lead the team to the College World Series in 2014 with a 1.99 ERA. After pitching on Saturdays his sophomore year he became the leader of the staff on Fridays for his junior and senior years. Elliot finished his UCI career with an ERA of 3.31, including 3 complete game shutouts and finishing in the top 10 all time in strikeouts, games started, and innings pitched.

After his UC Irvine career, Elliot went on to be drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 26th round of the MLB First Year Player Draft. Elliot pitched in the Mariners organization for two years before suffering a career ending injury.

With his playing career done, Elliot first joined the coaching staff at UC Irvine becoming an undergraduate assistant coach in 2018 while finishing his studies. He would go on to graduate from UC Irvine in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Film and Media Studies.

Elliot currently runs his own video production company called Picture This Productions LLC, while also tackling the Director of Baseball Operations for the Cal State Northridge Baseball team. He is currently in his second year in that position for head coach Dave Serrano.

Bryan Rich

Graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 2001. 3 year Varsity player. Named to the All-Pacific League team in 2001.

Played baseball at Glendale Community College.

Started coaching baseball at CVHS in Spring of 2004. Was a assistant coach with Freshmen and JV teams. In 2008, started coaching outfielders for the varsity team and running the strength and conditioning for the baseball program. Fall of 2013 became the Freshmen Head Coach while continuing to work with the Varsity.

Summer of 2014, was an assistant coach on the 18U Senior Babe Ruth team representing San Gabriel Valley and eventually California. That team made it all the way to the World Series where they ended up finishing in 3rd place after losing to Alabama in the semi finals.

Bryan worked as a EMT… most stressful time for him was going through Paramedic School… loved going through the Fire Academy… currently is the Head Freshmen Coach at CVHS, assistant with the Varsity team at CVHS, and coaches with Honeybadgers.

Luke Peterson

Coach Peterson learned the game of baseball in the Glendale La Crescenta community attending the local High School.

Coach Peterson continued to play after high school at the Community College level, then transferring to a 4 year college to play baseball.

After college coach Peterson started coaching in the community working with players at the college and high school levels.

In 2011 interested in helping the development of players prior to High School, Coach Rich and Coach Peterson started coaching local area youths to prepare them for the High School level.

In 2016 Coach Rich and Coach Peterson started the Honey Badgers baseball program.

Since 2011 Coach Peterson has have multiple players continue to play at the high school and college levels

Coach Peterson has 15+ years of coaching experience.
